"We're Going to Be Friends" is a song by the American alternative stone band White Stripes from their album White Blood Cells. Featured in the opening credits of the 2004 motion picture Napoleon Dynamite, writer/director Jared Hess commented that, originally, they could not notice the song they were looking for, but wanted to employ "We're Going to Be Friends," and so a copy of Napoleon Dynamite was sent to The White Stripes, who promptly canonical the song's use in the moving-picture show.[ citation needed ]
